CoSLA Chairs Award 2000

A presentation team from B.E.A.T travelled to Edinburgh in February 2000 to highlight the work of Banff Environmental Action Team to members of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (CoSLA) awards team.

The B.E.A.T team subsequently attended an awards ceremony in Glasgow on the 21st February 2000 where they enjoyed excellent hospitality and nervously awaited the decision of the judges. At the end of the evening B.E.A.T were jointly awarded along with Can-Do Community Recycling the prestigious 'Chairs' award for outstanding quality in services to the public. This was a major achievement that recognises the commitment, enthusiasm and hard work that has gone into making B.E.A.T one of the most successful recycling projects in Scotland.

Banff Environmental Action Team were awarded a Green Butterfly from the Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum which grants several awards annually for a variety of projects which contribute to the environment. B.E.A.T's award is in recognition of the work undertaken in reducing the amount of waste paper and cardboard that is sent to landfill each year.
